New art gallery launches in Manchester
You know when you happen upon a piece of art and, for reasons that are unclear, you simply fall in love with it?
That’s Drella.
Drella, a contemporary online gallery of modern art, champions the bright young things of the modern art world. And it launches, exclusively in Manchester, with a lavish event at Harvey Nichols on Wednesday October 18th.
Prince Harry is a confirmed fan of the gallery’s artists.Working in tandem with Walton Fine Arts in London – the place where those in the know go to uncover art gems by the hottest new art stars – Drella selects the cream of the new breed of modern art heroes and brings them to market with must-attend events in the coolest venues around.
Drella founder, Renee Sedgwick, said: “A Drella night is something to behold. Brilliant new art – the kind of work that talks to you in a language only the heart can understand – fine wines and canapes and a guestlist of enlightened movers and shakers all under one roof.
“We specifically chose Manchester to hold our launch event because this city is famous for its creativity and pushing the boundaries of art in every sense.”
Prince Harry knows exactly how powerful a Drella artist can be. The loved-up Royal bought a new work by Drella star Van Donna to declare his love in a very unique way to new belle Meghan Markle last year. It seems to have worked, if predictions of the couple’s forthcoming marriage announcement are to be believed.
The painting in question – called ‘Everybody Needs Somebody to Love’ – was purchased by the Prince last October, shortly before he made his romance with the stunning Suits actress public.
“To truly appreciate art it has to talk to you – that’s why we have called what we do Modern Art,” Renee added.
Drella’s first collection features work by the much talked about global art superstars of the day – Van Donna and Escobar.
